We built a state-of-the-art packaging line for a client designed for the automatic handling and packaging of high-quality film rolls. The system serves as the link between the winding process and final packaging and was developed entirely to the client’s specifications.
Film rolls are automatically fed into the system and then precisely detected and positioned by an advanced 3D vision system. This allows the robot to correctly pick up each roll, even if it is conical or wound unevenly. This prevents damage to both the product and the core. Once the rolls have been securely packaged, they are automatically placed on the correct pallet according to a predetermined stacking pattern.
The entire process is automated using conveyor belts, shuttles, rotary stations, and buffers, ensuring an efficient and continuous product flow. Special attention was paid to operator safety. Thanks to designated safety zones, light curtains, lockout systems, and clear LED signaling, operators can always work safely and ergonomically.
This project perfectly illustrates how different areas of expertise within our group come together. From engineering and automation to mechanical engineering, panel building, and assembly: by working closely together, we were able to deliver a reliable, efficient, and forward-looking solution that fully meets the customer’s needs.
